Your child may qualify for this study of an investigational medication to treat middle ear infections in children with ear tubes. He or she may be eligible if between six months and 12 years old, has had ear tubes longer than 72 hours that are in working order, and has otorrhea for 21 days or less duration that's visible by parent/guardian. Volunteers may be eligible if they are ages 18 to 80, have had a clinical diagnosis of type 2 diabetes for at least six months, are receiving metformin and a secretagogue combination therapy, and have been non-smoking for at least six months.
